The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development

This report will refer to two maps which give an illustration of Islip town at present and its projected development Overall, it can be seen that the town was completely changed with the construction of a new ring around the centre. Some spectacular developments: facilities, accommodation were added to the town. At present, a main road runs through its centre from east to west. However, in the second map, the road will be widened to meet the increasing demand and will be constructed to the ring around the centre, the main road will be replaced by pedestrians only. Currently, there is a row of shops on both sides of the main road which crosses from west to east. The residential area is located in the south of the town, between the school which is located towards the west and a part at the east. Nevertheless, in planned development, the shops along the north side will be demolished to make way for the bus station, shopping centre and car park and new housing area. The shops along the south side still exist, but the town’s park will be reduced in size to add more houses within the ring road.
