The provided maps illustrate how Somerville town has changed for a decade, between ten years ago and now. Overall, it can be clearly seen that a number of new businesses have been constructed. In addition, several hotels and refreshments have been built near the river. 10 years ago, the town of Somerville was mostly vacant with a main road and two car parks on both sides. One of the biggest changes to the town has been the replacement of car park 1 into new refreshments including restaurants and a café. Along the river, two hotels have been constructed. A book store has been added next to the refreshment area abd two blocks of shops have been built on both sides of the footpath, which has been constructed around the new center. The main road which is parallel to the river has been rerouted to the only car park which used to be known as car park 2. Additionally, there has been a new construction of a golf course next to the car park.
