The map provides information of the changes that have been taken at Queen Mary Hospital since its construction in 1960 to 2000. They made 3 times modification in 40 years. However, all the modifications are not limited to the buildings function and format but no exceed to the total available area. Early layout in 1960 show us the 4 main building, Hospital and shopping Centre are located near the main road, and the farmland and the carpark are located behind. In first re-layout, the Shopping Centre which located in left front area, was split become 2 area and change it function become Cancer Centre located in front corner and the pharmacy which located side by side with the hospital. Not limited to that, the function of farmland was changed to nursing school. The further transformations are focus on the building capacity. They made the cancer Centre bigger and acquire the nursing school area and moved the nursing school area to small part of car park and also made the car park area smaller.
