The table illustrates the percentages on consumer’s expenditure on different categories in five countries, Ireland, Italy, Spain, spain, Sweden, turkey in 2002. Units are measured in precentages. Overall, it can be seen that consumer spent maximum on Foods/Drinks/Tobacco rather than clothing/footwear and minimum on leisure/education in every country. To begin with, turkey spent most on food and drinks, near to 30%, followed by Ireland, 28% and people of both the countries spent equally on clothes and footwear nearly to 6%. In terms of education, turkey has 2 times more educated people from Ireland. In Italy, people spent 16% on food and nearly half on clothes and footwear but for education they invested only 3%. In case of Sweden and spain, Sweden spent 15% on food, nearly 6% on clothes/footwear which is less when compared with spain at 18 and 7% respectively. But the case is opposite for eduction and leisures, percentage spent is more in Sweden (3. 22%) than in spain (2%).
