The line graph demonstrates changes in reading habits of boy and girl readers at Starmouth School library books, in 3 years, starting from 2009. In general, initially girls’ interest in reading books was slightly less than boys, but at the later period, girl readers showed more keen on reading books while that was the opposite in the case of the boy readers. In the beginning, during 2009 girls read fewer books than the boys did. Girl readers read over 20 books compared to 45 books read by boy readers. It clearly shows that boys enjoyed more books than girls. In the following year, while the number of books girls finished reading increased by 40 books, it increased by 80 books for boys, exactly twice as many books as the figure for girls. It is worth noticing that boys and girls read the same number of books (100) in the year 2011. Boys also read more books this year than in 2010, but the change was less noticeable. Additionally, the figure for girls further surged to 140 books in 2012, but there was a fall regarding the reading habits of boys, as the number of books went down to 80. To sum up, girls were less addicted to reading books than boys in this library at first but girls have shown a change of their interest in later years.
