From the beginning of time the curiosity of humans is the thing that has made us a superior species among others. History has always fascinated us in various ways like knowing about the invention of the wheel or why dinasours died. By knowing the history of our residence we can know more about the neighbourhood and the mentality of past generations. Humans always search for the facts or information which can amaze them. There might be numerous reasons about why people are willing to know the history of their houses or buildings. It's a often time fun activity to figure out about how any particular room of our house might have been used in any other manner, for e. g. the present kitchen might be a place for excretion for past owners. The information about the land on which our building is constructed can tell us about it's resistance for calamities like earthquakes or floods. In some parts of the Indian sub-continent people believe in the concept of Vastushastra. It tells us about the pros and cons of having various items in different directions. So to figure out the cause of bad ongoing events people are curious about the past geographical orientation of rooms. Although it's not always beneficial to believe in such theories which are not backed by science. We can use old maps or blue prints of the building to know more about it.
