For many years, it has been undeniable that the development of science has played a pivotal role in human civilization in numerous ways, and social media are primarily Internet-based tools for a variety of purposes. People can communicate with others worldwide without face-to-face contact and unlimited distances through this device. Furthermore, humans need to own a device with an internet connection, and then they gain numerous intelligence about the world to expand their knowledge through social media.
Moreover, Social media has various forms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc, which create more opportunities for people to have entertainment and interact with each other. According to Margaret Molloy, CMO of SiegelGale, social media can be seen as a connected sport. Indeed, the number of social media users has increased gradually in recent years; following Statusbrew about Social media Statistics 2020, more than 400 million active users had a dramatic rise compared to 2019, an addition of 9, 9 % for the total to reach 4. 55 billion.
Therefore, this report aimed to analyze how teenagers use social media; hence, knowing their habits in this tool.
METHODOLOGY
The research was conducted on December 16th, 2021. This research paper was operated with the participants of 44 Asian students coming from an Academic English course at Western Sydney University Viet Nam campus. This sample was randomly selected.
In addition, the survey instrument was in the form of a questionnaire through Google Forms. EAP 4 formed it, considered 13 questions, and they were all close-ended. Demographic information was elicited; hence, the researcher can obtain much information about participants’ habit of social media use, place or location of use, reason or purpose for the service, etc.
In terms of answering the questionnaires, they were responded to online by EAP 4 students after class. Each subject clicked on the link from the form-maker and spent a few minutes answering and submitting their responses. At the same time, the administrators were on hand and collected the information that they had gained.
Finally, these data were converted into percentages and presented in chart form for analysis.
RESULTS

Firstly, the pie chart represents the number of people who access social media through several social networking sites. According to statistics, Facebook was more popular with respondents than Instagram, Zalo, or other social networking sites. Indeed, the bulk of people using Facebook accounted for more than half of the rest (62. 8%), while Zalo was the fewest users (4. 7%).

Secondly, this chart illustrates the rate of teenagers accessing social media using different devices. From the overall perspective, the percentage of people using mobile accounted for the most (79, 1%), which was about 5. 5 times as many as people utilizing laptops. In comparison, the number of teenagers using tablets was the lowest (2. 3%).

In addition, this chart provided information about how teenagers spend their time using social media. The bulk of youngsters taking 3-5 hours to utilize social media had the highest rate, exactly 41, 9%, and the percentage of people spending more than 7 hours on social media was the lowest (7. 0%).

Finally, this pie chart gives the reason why people use social media. Most respondents use social media to find information, precisely 44. 2%. In addition, another reason for using social media was to make friends or people, the percentage of which accounted for 32, 6%, much higher than utilizing this tool for business or work and connecting with home or family.
Discussion:
This research was designed to demonstrate how people use social media; hence, having the information about the habit of ISB students in using social media.
The main finding of the research was that most students used Facebook as their preferred social media application. It is undoubtedly because of the popularity of Facebook that it is easy for people in the world to access, and this application has many useful features for users’ entertainment. Similarly, Facebook was the most common application for chatting. Whereas, Zalo was the slightest interest to the students. It is possible that since Zalo is not as popular as Facebook, most people who use this application are older people. Another significant result was the mobile phone was the most used device to access social media because of its compactness and convenience, so people can use it anywhere they want.
Finally, students generally used social media was 3-5 hours per day. A possible reason for this may be that social media has many kinds of entertainment for users wasting their time, such as surfing Facebook, chatting with their friends, etc.
Lastly, a significant limitation in this research was the lack of time for collecting responses and misunderstanding of questions by respondents, so they cannot be apparent for answering the questions.
