The graphs below show the enrolments of overseas students and local students in Australian universities over a ten year period.

The graph illustrates the enrollment of overseas students versus the enrollment of local students over a span of ten years. The quantities of students are represented on the y-axis and the time span is given on the x-axis. The number of overseas students shows an exponential graph where the number of students is increasing at a drastic rate, whereas the number of local students follows a more linear pattern. In 2001 the difference in the number of students was almost 5000 with local students having the upper hand, as time passes it is seen that the enrollment of local students is climbing at a steady rate, while on the other hand, the rate registration of international students is slow at the start but it slowly picks up the pace and almost 25000 students enrolled in 2008-2009, compared to only 2000 students enrolled between 2001 and 2002. At the end of the time period, it is shown that both the local's and students from abroad's rate of enrolment slowed down between the period 2009-2010. Furthermore, that the difference between the international and local students increased from a measly 5000 to a massive 40000 students, where still the local students have the lead.
