The graphs below show the enrolments of overseas students and local students in Australian universities over a ten year period. 0Ap59
The graph illustrates an amount of enrolments on Australian universities and a number overseas and local students, who decide to begin their studies study on these universities between 2001 and 2010. According to graph, it is easily visible that the number of students, who decide to enrol on Australian universities increases. In comparison with 2001 the number of overseas students in total in 2010 rose on around 60000 and this amount increases every year. Not only overseas students but also local students decide to apply for a place on Australian universities. Comparing to overseas students, the number of local students who are interested in studying in Australia is significantly bigger. In 2010 there were around 600000 local students, who decide to apply for place on university and around 200000 students, who decide to study there. Furthermore, from the graph we can conduct that the number of local students in total stays on the same level. That means that number of students who start studying in Australia every year is similar. In my opinion this is due to the fact that the offer of universities is limited and not everyone is allowed to receive a place on the university.
