The graph illustrates the population of 4 different types of turtles r68lL
The graph illustrates the population of 4 different types of turtles(Leatherback, Green, Olive Ridley and all other) in India from 1980 to 2012. Overall, Olive Ridley turtle is seen as the most common, followed by all the remaining species except the other 2 showcased in this graph. The next highest is the Green turtle, whereas the lowest population is of Leatherback turtles. Olive Ridley turtles see a rise in their number since 1980 and have only gone up only seeing narrow dips sometimes over the course of 32 years. The highest population is seen in year 1996 with as many as 14, 000 Oliver Ridley turtles all over India. Green and the rest of the turtle specimen witnessed a very rocky path over the years but their numbers stayed relatively the same throughout, that is around 10, 000. Leatherback turtles peaked in 1985(11, 000) before suffering big losses in their population. Moreover, this decline kept going on for nearly 3 decades and have had the lowest numbers since 1989 and hit their rock bottom in 2008(5, 500).
