The line graph illustrates typical daily consumption for electricity in England in two seasons, winter and summer. Meanwhile, the pie chart indicates how English households use electricity for various purposes. Overall, in winter, the electricity demand is significantly higher than that in summer. It can be easily seen that heating rooms and heating water are the primary purposes of the electricity’s usage. The remaining electricity is allocated for the use of other electronic devices. People in the UK consume between 30, 000 and 45, 000 units of electricity in winter, the figures are nearly double of those in summer. The electricity demand in summer do not exceed 20, 000 units per day, reach the hightest proportion in the noon. By contrast, the electricity requirement actually increases at 9. 00 am and hits a peak of 45, 000 units at 23. 00 pm. Turning to the pie chart, over a half of electricity (52%) is used for heating rooms and water. The amount of electricity which spent for ovens, kettkes and washing machine ranks second, around 18%. The two final purposes are in equal percentage, about 15%. They are used for entertainment such as radio, TV and electronic devices like vacuum cleaners, food mixers, electronic tools.
