Overall, it can be seen that transporting products by road accounts for the largest amount, while it is opposite for pipeline. In addition, the qualities of goods shipped by those modes increased over the years. In 1974, approximately 70 million tonnes of goods were transported by road, this followed by water and road, which had an equal output, at about 40 million tonnes. In the next 28 years, the importance of using the road as a channel/method to deliver reached a peak at nearly 100 million tonnes in 2002, meanwhile, the figure for pipeline rose sharply to around 41 million tonnes. In terms of rail, the figure for this mode recovered although it dropped significantly to 22 million tonnes in the first 10 years. Finally, there was a remarkable increase in the amounts of goods shipped by water to over 20 million tonnes in 2002
