The graph below shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over between 1940 and 2040 in three different countries. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph shows the comparison of aged 65 population in Japan, Sweden, and The USA between 1940 to 2040. The number will be in percentage and the summary is as follows. In 1940, the proportion of elderly people in USA only around 9% followed by Sweden and Japan approximately 7% and 5% respectively. After 4 decades later, in the western countries, the number of elderly increased to around 15%. On the other hand, the figures drop slightly to around 2% in Japan before it continues to grow to the same point as 1940. Moreover, the proportion elderly people will predicted continue to grow between 2030 and 2040. In Japan the number of aged 65 and over increased dramatically to more than 25% which indicates surpass the number of elderly in Sweden and The USA approximately 25% and 22% respectively. All in all, the proportion of elderly people in 3 countries is expected to be similar which around 25%.
