The line graph illustrates the level of pollution in London between the year 1600 and 2000. The data is given in micrograms per cubic metre.
The sulphur dioxide started to rise from the year 1600 and showed the increasing trend till the year 1700 and reached 750 micrograms per cubic metre. On the other hand, during the same duration smoke reached slightly less than 250 cubic metre. Sulphur dioxide after the year 1750 started to diminish and then rose again after 1800. Similar trend was followed by smoke as well. Sulphur reached peak touching almost 1000 cubic metre in the year 1850. and smoke recorded half of sulphur dioxide around 500 cubic metre. From the year 1990, both the sulphur and smoke followed declining rate and became almost same around 250m and finally 0m.
Although, both the sulphur dioxide and smoke started to rise from the year 1600 and showed upward trend till the year 1900 and then decreased back to 0 again in the year 2000. However, the rise in sulphur dioxide was much higher than smoke.
