The graph illustrates the proportion of students passing their graduation tests, regarding courses and gender, between 1993 and 1994. Overall, it is immediately obvious that the highest exam pass rate was English, whereas a reverse pattern was seen in Biology, Chemistry as well as Physics. Over the period, female pupils tended to outperform the male ones in language subjects, which ranged from roughly a third to more than third-fifth for girls, compared to a fifth and approximately 45 percent for boys. In contrast, nearly 20% of the male students passed the Craft, Design and Technology exams and nearly doubled the rate of females accounting for over a tenth. In terms of other subjects, there was an insignificant gap between both genders. Around 42 percent of them finished the Mathematics’s final evaluation, which made this subject become the second highest pass rate. Whilst more than 23% of boys were successful in Geography, the percentage of girls was just more than 20%. Finally, just about from more than 5% to precisely 10 percent of them passed the science exams.
