The second highest level was reached in Nova Scotia, where the proportion of students coming from different countries was between 6 and 7%. Five years leater, the Canadian province with the largest number of overseas students was still New Brunswick, with a percentage of almost 12%. The overall proportion increased, with the only exception of Alberta in which the percentage decreased from almost 6% to just over 4%. Although the highest level was reached in New Brunswick, the province of British Columbia witnessed the largest increase. In fact here the number was more than doubled over this period of time, going from almost 4% to more than 10%.
