The graph below shows the consumption of 3 spread from 1981 to 2007
The presented line graph gives data on the consumption of three different spreads, such as margarine, low fat and butter, commencing from 1981 to 2007.
At the first glance, it is indicated the grams on the vertical axis, and the years on the horizontal axis. It is shown that butter experienced a significant downward trend, while margarine remained neutral for several years, and low fat and reduced spreads experienced a tremendous improvement comparing to the other spreads. All of them had ups and downs in consumption during the given years. Although butter initially had the highest grams in consumption, it outraced low fat and reduced spread at the end of the period.
In 1981, the highest consumption in grams was butter, starting from 140g, after passing five years, it showed a significant increase, which changed the consumption rate, then, the consumption in grams started collapsing rapidly, starting from year 1986, which lasted till 2007.
Margarine consumption showed a steady consumption rates following the years from1981 to 2001. It is obvious that after 2001, the consumption rate dropped noticeably.
Comparing to the other spreads, consumption of low fat and reduced spread started later, in 1996, it is clear that low fats moved upward faster in the following years, but then had a slight drop in 2007.
