As an overall trend, the amount of carbon dioxide release per person in the United Kingdom and Sweden started higher than Italy and Portugal. However, the amount of carbon dioxide out put decreased, while in Italy and Portugal gradually increased though out the years.
As is presented in the graph, in 1967, the amount of carbon dioxide out put was the highest at around 11 tonnes, while in Sweden just over 8 tonnes per person. Compare to Italy and Portugal with 1 and over 4 tonnes respectively.
In 2007, the amount of carbon dioxide in United Kingdom went down slightly to about 9 tonnes, while there was dropped to less 6 in Sweden. By contrast, the amount of carbon dioxide released in Italy rose to nearly 8 tonnes and Portugal also rose to about 5 tonnes at the same period.
