The graph illustrates comparative data on the amount of global migration over the designated years between 1999 and 2008 in a particular European country. Overall, It is conspicuous that the figure for immigrants exceeded that for emigrants, playing a dominant role, while they both went up smoothly over the period shown. Besides, there was a slight fluctuation demonstrated in the net migration. To start with, in 1999, around 450, 000 people came into Britain nearly double the number of emigration in that nation, being at approximately 300 thousand. Over the following 5 years, immigration experienced a slight growth by 50 thousand from 1999 to 2003, after racketing dramatic to just under 600, 000. Similarly, emigration also went through an ascending, but less impressive than that of immigration, only at about 350 thousand. Moreover, the gap of migration remained roughly steady at 160 thousand in 2003, followed by an exponential increment to a peak of 250, 000. During the following 5-year period, immigrants relatively leveled at just under 600 thousand, but the opposite pattern could be seen in the trend of emigration where the number plummeted by 50, 000 in 2007, after expending to 420 thousand. Therefore, the net number sank to 200, 000 in 2006, next drew an even with the figure for 2004 at 2007. Finally, it plunged significantly, shrinking to its lowest point at 160 thousand.
