The graph above indicates energy comsumption in the United States since 1980 with the estimation of this until the year 2030. As is shown by the graph, fossil fuels such as petrol, oil, coal and natural gas have been the main sources of the utilizaton in comparison with nuclear and renewable energies and they are projected to keep doing so in the future. Looking at the details, in 1980, the amount of petrol and oil comsumed was about 35 quadrillion units and it has gone up steadily to approximately 42 quadrillion units in 2015. Coal and natural gas became in second and third after petrol and oil starting respectively at around 20 quadrillion units and 16 quadrillion units. Petrol and oil is predicted to continue rising nearly 50 quadrillion units and so do coal which would reach about 30 quadrillion units in 2013 while natural gas is supposed to level off since 2020. In contrast, nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower enegies share small quantities in fuel consumption. None of them has have any tremendous changes since 1980. They stood at around 3 quadrillion units at the beginning and they only hit the point of about 5 quadrillion units in 2030 except hydropower which would be at the same level as in 1980.
