The given line graph illustrates the amount of three kinds of spreads consumed in a period between 1981 and 2007. The three spreads are Margarine, Low fat and reduced spreads, Butter. The units are measured in grams In the beginning, Butter was the most popular spread, reaching a peak in 1986 at 160 grams. After reaching the apex, it dropped significantly to about 50 grams in the last years. The amount of margarine eaten in 1981 stood at around 90 grams, and took the lead by replacing Butter from 1991 to 2001. The figure fluctuated and there was a slight drop in consumption of margarine to 40 grams in the final year. On the other hand, there was no consumption of low fat and reduced spreads in the early years until 1996. This figure, which reached a high of just over 80 grams, fell slightly in the final years to approximately 80 grams in 2007. Overall, the graph has a downward trend. The popularity of Butter dropped dramatically in final years. Likewise, Margarine also had a decrease in its consumption, following that low fat and reduced spreads took lead in final years of the period.
