I will design a activity called gap-fill in teaching English through song. This activity will suitable for students in level A2 and it will last for about 20 minutes. There are some teaching aids that I use in this activity: song, speakers, handout, a computer to present my presentation and a quite board. At first, I will introduce some new words in the songs: computer games, DVD, book, guitar, bike, kite, Internet. And then I will show the definition and give some pictures as the example to make sure students understand those new words. Then I will make a small activity to check their understanding like: give them a picture and ask them a name of that word. Then I will divide the class into group of from 5 to 8 people depends on the number of students. After that, I will give the learners worksheets and ask them to pay attention of the blank spaces in the song as well as remind them to listen to the song carefully in order to complete the task. There will be 7 gaps in the song which are the words they just have learned and I will let the students listen to the song twice. There task is listen to the song and complete the gaps in the same time. Before start to listen, I will double check them with some question such as: How many people are there in each group? How many time you guys can listen to? How many gaps you guys have to fill? During students listening to the music, I will go around class to make sure nobody is cheating. Finish listen to music, to enliven the atmosphere, I will organize a small competition between groups, students will work in their group to check answer, then 1 member from the groups will run to the board and write only 1 word per person and they will take turn to complete the all the gaps. They will have 5 minutes. Which group complete with the most correct answers will be the winner and receive some prizes such as sweets, stickers and so on. Before start the competition, I will ask some question to check: how many people can run to the board, how many word you guys can write, how many minutes to complete all the gap. Later, for the revision, I will show the mind-map of those new words and give some feedback such as give compliments.
