The given line charts delineate the information on the percentage of households with electric appliances and total hours spent on household chores like washing clothes, preparing food, cleaning in one country over a period of 100 years from 1920 to 2019. A glance at the both the charts reveal that there is a substantial increase in possession of machines which aid day to day activities and there is a decrease in total hours allocated for those activities. In 1920, 40% of households possessed washing machine and 30% owned a refrigerator but there was no sign of usage of vacuum cleaners. The usage of the vacuum cleaners skyrocketed till 1960 with nearly 90% of people had one and by 1980 everyone had this appliance. There has been a steady increase in utilization of refrigerator, half of the citizens had a refrigerator by 1950. By 2000 refrigerator was available in every house. Nearly 50 hours were spent for household activities in 1920 this fell sharply to 20 hours by 1960 and this notion plateaued to 10 hours of weekly work by 2019.
