To begin with, it can be clearly seen that, the amount of money that families spent on restaurant meals had increased over the period. In 1970 most of the people spent their budget on home cooking meals and the restaurant meals allocated only 10% to itself. Then, the amount spent on restaurant meals increased to 15% in1980. The amount of money which spent on restaurant meals increases to 35% in 1990 and the year 2000 the amount of food budget spent on restaurant meals and home cooking meals had been equal to 50% each.
From the graph, it is visible that, the number of meals eaten in both sit down and fast food restaurants had increased during the period. In 1970 the same number of meals which was 20 had been eaten in both sit down restaurant and fast food restaurants. Then the number of meals eaten in both kind of restaurants increased slightly to almost 35 and 45, and 30 to 40 in 1980 and 1990 respectively. Although, there was an increase in the number of meals that were eaten in both restaurants, but after the year 1990 families preferred to ate meals in fast food restaurants, as we can see there was a sharp increased in the number of meals which were eaten in fast food restaurants.
