The flow chart depicts the life cycle of the silkworm. 7rxVA
The flow chart depicts the life cycle of the silkworm. Overall, there are 5 main steps in the process beginning with eggs laid on a leaf by a mother worm and ending with moths. The life commences with 2 larval stages. Everything begins with plentiful small eggs are laid on a leaf by a mature worm. After 10 days, the caterpillars hatch and become silkworm larvae whose main source of food is the mulberry leaf on which the eggs are left at first. The following stages witness the occurrence of silk thread and cocoon which are two raw ingredients for silk cloth. It takes 4-6 weeks for a silk thread to be formed as the larva’s cover. 3-8 days later, a cocoon is fully shaped containing the larva inside. Within the next 16 days, the caterpillar develops and transforms into a mature moth. Then, it breaks the cocoon and becomes another mother worm, repeating again the whole process
