The diagrams below indicate the life cycle of large fish named salmon. Overall, there are 3 main steps in the lifespan of salmon, beginning as salmon eggs and finishing as an adult salmon In the first stage, the salmon eggs are laid into the reeds with some small stones in the upper river with a slowly moving flow. They need the time of 5-6 months to grow into fry, whose length is from 3 to 8 cm. After that they migrate downstream to the fast-flowing in the lower river. They stay here for 4 years until they become the smolts has 12-15 cm long. The smolts will follow the flow and come to the open sea. Gradually after 5 years at sea, they turn into adult salmon whose length is between 20-26 cm. Having completed all these steps, the adult one moves back to the slow-moving upper river in order to lay eggs, and the life cycle will begin.
