The diagram illustrated shows how rainwater is collected in an Australian town, and used as drinking water. The rainwater is collected, filtered and provided to the houses for drinking. Initially, the rain which falls on the rooftop is collected in the drain, which eventually runs down to the water filter. In this process, the water is filtered to remove any impurities. The clean water is sent to the tank for storage. The stored water goes to the water treatment plant, to add chemicals, and to ensure that the treated water is fit for people to drink. After the water is treated, the drinking water is led back to the houses in the town, where the people can use it to drink.
