The charts below show the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010

The line chart illustrates the numbers of smoking males and females in certain land in 40 years. Overall, it is clear from the chart that men had a downward trend. Although females had an upward trend, the numbers of smoking females were still lower than males. In 1960, the number of smoking men was the highest, where 600 thousand were recorded compared to only 100 thousand smoking women. Then the rate of men who used to smoke fall gradually over the years until it reached 500 thousand in 1975. At the same time, the proportion of females were rising dramatically, where the numbers have been double in the first five years, then they remained stable in the period 1965 to 1970 after that another significant increase was shown from 1970 to 1975 to reach over 300 thousand. From 1975 to 2000, the rates of both smoking genders have been decreasing steadily. However, the gap between the numbers of male and female smokers was approximately 200 thousand in 1975, this gap declined slowly over time until they reach 200 and nearly 250 thousand for females and males, respectively.
