The diagram illustrates the main stages which take place in the process of producing sugar from sugar cane.
It is noteworthy that there are 4 main stages in this process, starting at planting the sugar canes and ending with the cooling stage to turn them into sugar. The most noticeable stage in this diagram is that sugar cane can be harvested by two different methods.
Firstly, the sugar canes are planted in the soil. Once it is grown for more than a year, the sugar canes are ready to be harvested either by machine and farmer’s hand. At the following stage, the canes are brought to a fruit machine to be pressed into juice. After turning into liquid, it will be taken to a purification system that contains a limestone filter to get rid of waste in the sugar cane juices.
At the subsequent stage, the pure sugar cane juice diffuse in high heat that turns into syrup, followed by separating the crystalized sugar from the liquid which is the centrifuge step. Finally, after collecting all the sugar pieces, they are then putting in an iron barrel for drying and cooling purposes.
