the diagram below shows the life cycle of the silkworm and the stages in the production of silk cloth pR1D3
The diagram depicts the life cycle of a silkworm and the process of producing silk cloths. As it is shown in the picture, the silkworm life cycle has 4 stages which begin with the egg production by the moth. It takes about ten days for each egg to turn into a silkworm larva that feeds on the mulberry leaves. this stage lasts between 4 to 6 weeks and after that silkworm larva starts threading silk around itself. after spending 3 up to 8 days, it becomes a whole cocoon. Finally, after about 3 weeks, young moths hatch from these cocoons and start their life. I is noted that these cocoons are the raw and main material used for silk cloth production. for this aim, cocoons are selected and boiled in the water. following this stage, threads are separated by the unwinding stage. each thread is between 300 to 900 meters which means they can be twisted, dyed, and used to manufacture clothes in the weaving stage. overall, these diagrams illustrate that the cocoon stage of the silkworm life cycle is the important stage that can be used for silk clothes production.
