The diagram highlights life cycle of silkworm from birth to cacoon and also several stages in the production of silk cloth. Overall, the process is cyclic in silkworm and linear for silk cloth in cyclic process there are four steps, while 5 step process in production of silk cloth. Cyclic process and linear process starts with eggs of silkworm and Silk thread respectively and linear process ending with Silk cloth. In the first stage of silkworm the process commences from the egg laid by mother worm. It takes 10 days to complete first stage. After that eggs are generated silkworm larvae. The food of silkworm larva is Mulberry leaves. After 4 to 6 weeks there is a cell outside of the Silk thread and In The Fourth Stage cocoon is produced after 3 to 8 days. In the last stage. it transforms into moth after 16 days and moth grow up and this cycle is repeated all over again. As it can be observed in the second picture, in the first stage, silk Threads are selected then they are boiled in the water. As soon as boiling is done they are sent for unwinding process. Here length of thread must be between 300 to 900. In following stage, silk Threads are twisted and dyed in Dyers. And finally waving is done and again it dyed. This process is continue till better quality of trade is made.
