The provided diagram illustrates how sewage is treated so that wastes are disposed and water is released in the sea. Overall, it can be seen that after completing of sewage treatment process, offsite disposal and treated water are gotten as final result. To begin with, sewage is come from any particular area to filtering process, in which that liquid pass through a filter where large solids are stuck and remained are gone further. The big sized waste is disposed in offsite. In the next step, remained material is sent to grit removal in which sand and gravel are removed and passed to the solid waste. Later, product after grit removal is transferred to the mixing chamber in which few chemicals are added to sewage. In the following stage, result of mixing chamber is gone to the water separator in which waste sludge is separated from water. Next, water is sent to water treatment where anti-bacteria added and at the last, we get treated water which is passed to open ocean. Apart from this, removed waste sludge is transferred to sludge dewatering. After that process, dewatered sludge is disposed with the solid waste.
