The given bar graphs depict how the proportion of men and women students obtaining high grades varied in 1960 and 2000. Overall, it can be seen that male students scored higher in science and math, while female pupils scored minimum in same subjects in the given time. To begin with, the percentile of male students whi got top grades in science was maximum accounting for a third in 1960, this figure declined sharply to 15% in 2000. 10% anda fifth of men scored higher grades in Arts in 1960 and 2000 respectively. There was a huge difference of approximately 15% in the proportion of male learners who got top grades in maths in both years. Similar attitude was followed by men scholars who acquired high grades in Humanities in intial and final year. Probing further, Lax attitude was shown by female students who obtained high grades in science and math in 1960 and 2000. The percentage of women who scored top grades in Arts stood at 30% in 1960 as against nearly 25% in the case of same subject in 2000. The highest proportion of female students scored high grades in Languages and Humanities in 1960 and 2000.
