The chart show the percentage of recycling 4 materials in one country Jw0m6
The chart illustrates the recycling rates of four different materials ( paper and cardboard,
glass, aluminium cans, and plastic) in one country between 1982 and 2010.
Inter Great Tez
Overall, paper and cardboard recycling rates were the highest, followed by glass
containers. Recycling of aluminum cans experienced the most significant increase, while
plastic recycling rates were the lowest, rising only slightly over the period.
In 1982, about 65% of paper and cardboard was recycled. This figure fluctuated before
reaching a peak of 80% in 1994. From then on, however, it decreased steadily to a level
of 70% in 2010. In 1982, half of all glass containers were recycled. This figure dropped
to 40% in 1990 but then experienced a gradual increase from 40% to 60% by 2010.
Aluminium cans were first recycled in 1986, starting at about 5%. This figure climbed
rapidly and by 2010 it had risen to 45%. On the other hand, recycling of plastics did not
begin until 1990, and grew constantly but slowly, rising from around 2% to about 8%
over the period.
