The chart below shows the number of men and women in further education in Britain in three periods and whether they were studying full-time or part-time. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart shows how many men and women were involved in further education in Britain in full-time and part-time education in the following periods: 1970 to 1971, 1980 to 1981 and 1990 to 1991. At first glance, it is clear that part-time education was more preferable by both male and female during each period. Although, the number of men in full-time education increased gradually up to more than 200 thousand. In case of women, the numbers increased in both types of education. Moreover, the number of women who studied full-time in 1970-1971 was low and it increased sharply in a decade. On one hand, there was a decline in part-time education of male in 1980, but then it grew up again. On the other hand, the number of women in full-time education grew up dramatically and in 1990 reach the number of more than 1. 1 million. Overall, the number of women in both types of education increased over years, but, male part-time education decreased, which means that women are more involved in higher education.
