The bar graph describes the literacy percentage of Indian people based on the gender and their location for the year 2013, 2015 and 2017. It is clear form the graph that literacy among men was higher overall and people living in Urban areas contributes more to the number than people in Rural areas. The rate has rose steadily for both urban and rural for the above years. The literacy level for urban men was significantly higher than men living in country-sides. The level has rose sharply from 57% to 78% for rural region, whereas the growth is steady for city side going slowly from 81% to 88, 76%. For the female population in rural region the literacy level were considerably lower as compared to the urban population. The rate for rural region has gone up dramatically from 30% to 57%. On the other hand, the number for literacy for urban females rose exponentially and slowly starting from 64% to around 80%.
