The graph presents the class size in primary and lower secondary schools in 6 selected nation in 2006, comparing them against the global. Speaking of primary school first, we can see that the South Korea has about 34 students in each class, ranking at the top. There is 26 people in Japan’s class; the figure equaling to the world average. Interestingly, the class size saw the same level in Denmark and Mexico, which is about 3 less than that of UK(20). However, the class number of Iceland is mere 15 in the same period of time. As far as lower secondary school is concerned, there are three countries have larger size of class than world average. The top one is South Korea, approximately 35 people study in a class, while the Mexico is next with 31. The last one is Japan, with the number of 30 doubling that of Iceland which has minimum number of people in a class. Finally, the UK and Demark show the similar amount in their class, which are 22 and 18 in sequence. Overall, the date indicates that South Korea has largest class size comparing with other 5 countries in age group from 5 to 16 and the Iceland is just the opposite.
