The bar graph illustrates the number of car journeys into the city center made by residents and non-residents over 10 years period between 1996 and 2005. Overall, the number of car journeys of the residents in the city center in the first four years was much higher, because the non-resident's car journeys gradually increased after the year of 1999 due to the 2 new rules introduced in the city. To begin with, In the year 1996, the average number of car journeys per day was highest around 9900 as seen in the graph which was slightly decreased up to 5000 in the upcoming years after the parking meters were introduced into city center in 1999. However, they reduced the car journeys down to an average of 4000 in 2005 as the Westgate street and park land closed to traffic. Moreover, the average number of car journeys was seen as 5000 and increased significantly which remained stable for a while. After that, the number of journeys got highly reduced to around 3000 in the year 2003. after immediate rules imposed in the city but it was more compared to resident's car journeys in last year 2005.
