The bar chart illustrates the percentage of three different industrial sectors contributing to India`s economy between 1960 and 2000. Overall, the agriculture sector experienced a downward trend, however, there was a steady increase in the services sector throughout the period, similarly, industry rose rapidly and remained the same the last three decades. In 1960, the proportion of the agriculture sector was over 60%, before a gradual decrease, this figure accounted for around 13% of the total GDP in the final year. The rate of services rapidly jumped up from around 15% in 1960 to more than 60% in the last period. The industry sector, in 1960, was around 15 percent and jumped up to 20 percent over one decade. After that date, this figure rose slightly to around 25 percent and remained static throughout the last three decades shown.
