The bar chart below shows about the average children born per woman in 5 countries in 1970 and 2000. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The given column graph illustrates the birth rate in 5 countries namely India, Thailand, Mexico, Spain and Somalia for the year 1970 and 2000. To begin with, in 1970, India superseded all the given countries by having 5. 2 births per woman. It was closely followed by Thailand at 4. 8 births per woman. In Mexico and Somalia average 3 child were born per women. Lastly, among al countries Spain had an average less than 3 births per women which was least among the given countries. However, in 2000, n 2000, Somalia took the lead and had the highest number of childbirths per woman (3. 6 approximately). India and Mexico both had around 3 births per woman. Spain and Thailand had between 1 and 2 childbirths per woman. Overall, it is crystal clear for the bar graph that in Mexico the birth rate of child per women had not changed over given time. India, Thailand and Spain showed a significant downward trend in the birth rate, while Somalia showed an upward trend in the number of children born per woman.
