The two maps above illustrate all the changes that the city of Stokeford went through from 1930 to 2010. This report summarizes the most significant ones over this 80-year period.
Overall, the most noticeable change is the replacement of the farmland and the shops by a residential area whereas the River Stoke road, the bridge on the northern end, and the post office were the only elements of the city that were left untouched.
In 1930, most of the land was occupied by farmers as there were very few houses. However, in 2010 there are no farms in the city at all, as all the area previously occupied by farmers is now a residential zone. A retirement home is currently situated where the gardens used to be back in 1930 while the primary school of the area expanded in size occupying two whole blocks. Furthermore, the two shops that were opposite the school in 1930 seem to have left the city while the road leading towards the bridge was extended in order to include a larger number of houses.
