The diagram illustrates how corn is processed to become ethanol fuel. Overall, ethanol fuel is the purified liquid obtained as a result of boiling and fermenting ground corn methodically. Initially, corn is collected and stored to be ground and cooked with added water for a 4-hour period. Once it has been cooked, the corn is left fermenting for 48 hours until it is ready for the separation process. The fermented corn is separated into solid and liquid. From this point, the liquid resulted from the separation available after the fermentation step it is purified as ethanol for 5 hours to then be stored and ready to be distributed. Transportation is the last link of the chain.
