From the presented diagram, it can be observed that there was a dramatic fluctuation in the rate of households in owned accommodation and rented accommodation. In terms of lent households, the percentage of this kind of household decreased from about 78% (in 1918) to 68% (1939). 14 years later, the number of people who lent their house remained unchanged. From 1953 to 2001, the proportion of owned households dwindled dramatically to 30%. But in 2011, this proportion increased to 34%. Moving onto the households in owned, it saw a different pattern. The rate of these households increased from 22% (in 1918) to 31% (in 1939), then stabilized until 1953. This rate continued its rising tendency from 31% to 70%, in 1953 and 2001, respectively; whereas this rate plummeted to about 65% in 2011.
