Overall, the US contributed the most towards waste production, while Scotland producing the least. However, the waste production number of all the countries increased at the end of the period except Ireland.
In 1988, the United States produced 107 million tonnes of waste. This amount, however showed a substantial growth and reaching at 209 in 2000. Canada was almost a mirror image of Scotland. The number of total waste produced in Canada was 20 million tonnes and for Scotland was 3 million tonnes. In terms of Japan, it maintained an upward trend which was started at 15 million tonnes and eventually exceeded 25 million tonnes over the period.
On the other hand, the waste production quantity of Ireland was as same as Poland which was 10 million tonnes at the beginning of the year. The production of wate in Ireland then jump in 16 then again saw a drop at 9. 9 million tonnes. Meanwhile, Poland's waste production declined significantly in the middle year and touched at 18 million tonnes during the period of 12 years.
