The bar chart illustrates the percentage change in average house prices in five different cities of several countries during 1990 and 2002 compared with the prices in 1989. Overall, London shows the greatest difference in sales over that 12 years period. On the other hand, three cities out of 5 showed a decrease in average house prices from 1990 to 1995, while most of the cities displayed an increase between 1996 and 2002. Notably, sales fell 5% in New York and around 7% in Tokyo and London during 1990 and 1995. Another trend that can be observed is that figures rose gradually in Madrid and Frankfurt by about 2% and 3% respectively. In the years 1996-2002, only Tokyo had shown a decline in prices by 5%.
