The pictures depict the transformation of Felixstowe within 34 years, starting from 1967.
Overall, the city underwent several changes, the most important of which are the construction and redevelopment of some sites to cater to the tourism industry.
In the north part, while there was no change done to the golf course at the northwest corner, the farmland at the northeast was removed to make way for a hotel complex accompanied by the amenities like a swimming pool and two tennis courts. In addition, in the middle of the northern section, the shops on the right of High street were expanded, whereas those on the left-hand side were converted into apartments for accommodation.
Regarding the south side of the city, wind turbines had been erected on the sandy beach near the dunes on the west wing to provide green power for the grid by 2001. The hotel right next to it was redeveloped with a large car park. While the cafe remained, the marina, the pier, and the fish market were turned into the public beach and the private beach, which was exclusive to the customers using the service of the hotel opposite.
