Life cycle of the silkworm and production of silk cloth.

Life cycle of the silkworm and production of silk cloth. 1nGm7
The given diagrams present the life process of silkworms and how silk cloth is made. As observed from the graph, both life cycle of silkworms and silk cloth production consists of uncomplicated processes. The first diagram illustrates the life process of the silkworm. Everything starts with the silkworm moth laying eggs. After ten days, the eggs hatch into silkworm larvae. Later that, silkworm larvae spend four to six weeks feeding on mulberry leaf. Afterwards, the larvae start to produce a cocoon which has silk threads on it. It takes three to eight days for them to finish making the cocoon. Finally, silkworm larvae spend sixteen days in the cocoon and comes out as a moth. Then this process repeats itself. The second diagram demonstrates how the silk cloth is produced. The process starts with selecting silkworm cocoons. Then the selected cocoons are boiled in a pot. After the boiling, the silk thread around the cocoons gets unwound into a thread which can be approximately 300-900 meters long. Later that, the thread gets twisted. The twisted thread could be dyed before being weaved into cloth. Finally, the twisted thread gets weaved into a silk cloth which can also be dyed before use.
