The given bar chart illustrated data on spending leisure time enjoyed by males and females of various employment conditions in the typical week from 1989 - 1999. It’s measured in hours. Overall, men rate of spending leisure time was more than female, except two sectors: part-time job and housewives. Initially, no data for males was given for employed part-time and home-staying men. Employer part-time women spent about 40 hours; housewives enjoyed nearly 50 hours while males not. The amount of free time for housewives is about 50 hours which is lesser than two categories unemployed and retired whereas more than other groups. As it observed unemployed and retired people status were similar and they all had the longest free time approximately 70 – 85 hours per week for both genders. In short, because of the nature, both categories unemployed and retirement of men and women had double leisure activities respectively than employed population.
