The bar graph demonstrates Japan's population over the period of almost 100 years, past and present data and predictions for the future. The table lists the number of people aged 65 years and above and their percentage in the whole population. Overall, according to the bar graph, there was a decelerating increase from 1950 to 2015. Population peaked in 2005 and then started to drop significantly. Prediction of future trends shows that the population in 2055 will fall to almost the number of 1955. Besides the fall of the population, the percentage of older people is getting bigger and bigger. Although the number of older people is slightly decreasing, the percentage is rapidly growing and predicted that it will be almost 40 percent. These two graphs illustrate the population of Japan is first increasing and young in age, but gradually getting older and population decrease considerably and will drop to 89. 9 million which almost 40% of them are older than 65.
