The given graph gives information on the total number of commuter using separate railways for journey in Great Britain over the 55-year period As can be seen from the line graph, most passengers used national rail network for journey. All three types of railway journeys followed the upward trend. In 1950, there were 1000 millions people using national rail network. This figure experienced a considerable decline and reached it's bottom at about 600 millions passengers in 1980 before starting climbed up to over 1100 million's passengers after 25 years. Staring at the number of commuter was using London Underground for journeys, there was a stability at 700 millions passengers from 1950 to 1972. Then this figure decreased slightly for about 200 millions commuters in 1980 before upsurging and making up for about 1000 millions M 2004/05. Light rail and metro systems introduced lately in 1962 at the very small number of passenger In 1980, it was noti cable that nobody used this tape of journey. However, this figure began to rise over the years and had about 200 millions passengers in 2004/05.
